{taken when we first arrived into our new place}
{our new tree-lined street and ivy covered building- you cannot even imagine what a pleasant change this is for us coming from the concrete metropolis of downtown LA}
{supplies for my black & gold bathroom- the mirror is from Ikea and it is currently on my to do list to be painted gold}
{the Malm dressers set up as night stands awaiting their overlays. As much as I loved making our previous nightstands, they proved to be way too small to hold more than a small glass of water and a tiny lamp. Robert Abbey Delta Lamp from right here}
{a new houseplant from one of our Home Depot trips}
{supplies for our "fauxdenza" tv stand. we are still trying to find a good resource for the wood top- if anyone knows of a good (not sketchy or creepy) lumber yard in the Chicago area I would love to hear about it!}
I'll be back with updates on these project as we start crossing them off our list!
Aww how exciting! Congrats on the move and hope you two settle in quickly!

that bathroom sounds like its going to be amazing. will you post about the process of painting the mirror? my friend bought the same one this weekend and wants to paint it!
ReplyDeleteHey lady!
DeleteIm probably not going to blog it but the key is spray paint primer- the best kind for Ikea products is the kinda that also sticks to plastic even if the product isnt plastic.
hope that helps!

Would love to know where you got the square planter, was that also from Home Depot?
ReplyDeleteHi Natalie!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get that beautiful painting behind your bed? I love the colors and have been looking for something similar!
Thanks,
Nicole
Hello! So I just searched for 20 minutes for a similar style, but couldn't find anything like it; I am looking for a vanity tray in the same size as your striped tray because my vanity is tiny, and every other tray is huge! Do you happen to remember where you got it? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Kristi-Lee
DeleteI am sorry to say its actually from a few years ago from Ikea and I do not think they make it anymore since I was looking for another one myself recently :(
Maybe you could DIY one? http://theglitterguide.com/2012/02/15/diy-striped-tray/
hope that helps!

Maybe http://www.rebuildingexchange.org/ would have something that would work for your wood top?
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Chicago! Let me know if you need recommendations for anything!
ReplyDeleteWhere is your lamp from? I have a lamp obsession and I want to add this one to the mix.
ReplyDeleteHi Michaela,
DeleteIt is the Robert Abbey Delta lamp- comes in about a million colors!
