{paris: week six}

Between having a little mishap (i.e. dropped and broke) my favorite lens and both of us getting sick this week, I don't have a ton of Paris photos to share today so instead I did a little roundup of some of my favorite Instagram snaps from our time here.  Follow me on Instagram here.

Even though we were under the weather, we were able to make it out to have some tasty and authentic Indian food here following by great cocktails here and a tiki punch here.  I also ventured out into the beautiful sunny weather to scope out the new Zara Spring collection where I picked up this skirt and these heels.

{what i loved this week}

on instagram: @camillestyles picnic looks absolutely perfect.
chris & I (in last minute costumes) ready to head out to Kellogg's annual 90's party.

on pinterest: "rasmopolitan cocktail" favors from Martha Stewart would be perfect for handing out a bachelorette party.  Giving doors a simple makeover that makes a big difference.  Love the look of these tissue tassels taped randomly on a wall as a backdrop rather than strung on a string.

on the blogs: I am obsessed with this chic black and gold birthday party especially all the fabulous paper goods!

in real life: It's peony season!!! This gorgeous (and massive) arrangement of coral charm peonies is currently brightening up our studio at Bliss Weddings.

in the magazines:  I love seeing Kate Upton all glammed up in this retro spread for Vogue.

on my wishlist:  This neon statement necklace sold out before i could scoop it up a few months ago, but now its back in stock at asos!!  I love this simple green dress for a bridal shower or sunday brunch.  The price tag is bit hefty for these headphones, but I love the design.

{what i loved this week}

here's a little round up of things I loved this week- links to each are at the bottom of the post!

Happy Weekend!

on pinterest: this casual summer outfit in the perfect neutral shades (plus I already own the skirt!). these simple white cylinder planters.  this recipe for mandarin orange & olive oil donut holes sounds like the perfect mix of sweet and savory.

on instagram:  I have been loving seeing all the sneak peeks for the National Stationary Show that is coming up- especially the beautiful offerings from @SugarPaperLA. These rosemary skewers look pretty and add flavor from @inspiredbythisblog

on the internets: Phillip Lim for Target was just announced-  I will start counting the days now!!

on the blogs: I was dying over every image from this cocktail & food pairing post on Inspired By This- would love to re-create this kind of set up for a future dinner party!

in real life: I finally hunted down these Zara heels (I actually located them in orange county after they sold out seemingly everywhere and had to have a friend go pick them up to ship them to me in Chicago- thats not crazy. at all.)

in the magazines:  The striped paper suite by Cheree Berry in the Martha Stewart Spring 2013 issue is simply amazing.

on my wishlist:  This white lace kaftan/cover-up is perfect with summer around the corner and another Palm Springs trip on our calendar for June!  I would love to wear this necklace to dress up a simple white t-shirt & jeans ensemble.  An affordable black dress that is equals parts sexy (its almost backless) and bohemian

{mini egg mcmuffin sandwiches}

This past weekend, we hosted the "breakfast for dinner" themed birthday party for our friend Kay.  It was a great success and I can't wait to share the rest of the pictures soon.  Besides a spread of cereal, bacon, french toast and pancakes, Chris whipped up some mini egg McMuffin sandwiches for our guests.  These were cooked and assembled before everyone arrived and simply popped back into the oven to re-heat for a few minutes once the party started.

What you need (for roughly 24 sandwiches):

  • 2 dozen eggs
  • 2 packs of bacon (you get about 4 sandwiches from one strip of bacon)
  • 2 loaves of sourdough sliced bread
  • 1 pack of shredded cheese
  • 2.5 inch biscuit cutter
  • muffin pan
  • sandwich skewers
  1. Cut out circles from slices of bread using biscuit cutter- you should be able to get about 2 circles per slice. Place these on a baking sheet and lightly toast in the oven. Set aside.
  2. Cook up the bacon in a pan. Let cool and then slice each strip into 3 to 4 rectangular pieces about 2 inches long. Set aside.
  3. Break eggs into a bowl and scramble.  Place about 1/4 inch of egg in each tin of a muffin pan. Bake eggs in oven for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
  4. Place about a tablespoon of shredded cheese on each slice of toasted bread. Top with egg and slice of bacon.  Finish with the top slice of bread and skewer the sandwich to hold it all together.
  5. Reheat the sandwiches for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

here are some sneak peek photos from the party:
