{moving news: we're headed back to LA!}

I can't believe that we have been living in Chicago for almost two years now- it feels like only a few months ago I was packing up our downtown LA loft and writing this post!!  The land of moving boxes and apartment hunting is upon us again as we have already booked our flights home to California for less than a month from now.  The good news is that we have zeroed in another great loft back in downtown LA and will hopefully be finalizing a lease this week.  I promise to share all the details of our new place as soon as possible!

{moving to Paris}

At the end of this week we leave for the annual ski trip with Chris' grad school (you might remember seeing photos from last year's theme-filled trip here, here or here) and after that we head straight to LA/Orange County for Christmas............ but right before New Years Eve we hop on a flight and will be heading TO PARIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even as I write that it doesn't quite feel real.  In the past year and half since moving to Chicago, we have gotten some amazing opportunities and had some once in a lifetime experiences, but this one truly takes the cake.  Chris will be taking the winter quarter to study abroad at a business school in France and so we will be living in Paris for 3 full months!  We found an adorable (aka tiny) apartment right in the middle of the 7th arrondissement using Airbnb

I will definitely still be blogging in the time that we are living there, although the content will be slightly different as you might expect.  I really pride myself on trying to create original content for the majority of the posts here and those generally center around our home decor and entertaining so while those kind of posts will be much fewer I still have plenty of fun posts planned for our time there.

Right now the biggest priority in my life is trying to stuff as much of my closet as I physically can into only two suitcases.  I have been pinning interesting activities to this pinterest board as well as eliciting "must-do" lists from some of our friends who have travelled in France or even lived there.

Do you have any favorite lesser known places that I must visit/try/see?!?! Pretty please leave any and all suggestions for us in the comments!

{big news}

This coming August,  I will be moving
to Chicago for 2 years!!!!!!!

I have known that a move was on the horizon since December when Chris started getting back acceptances from the graduate schools he had applied to for his MBA.  After the final round acceptance letters went out and he took a few visits to the city, we officially decided that Chris would choose Kellogg at Northwestern University to get his MBA this Fall.

We could not be more excited to get to explore this awesome new city together for the next two years.  We even signed a lease on a great two bedroom place back in March!  While I will miss our friends here, our loft and the amazing times we have had in Los Angeles over the past 4 years, I cannot wait to see what this next chapter of our lives will hold for us!!

WHAT THIS MEANS:

PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN CHICAGO/EVANSTON:
Let's meet up when I get there!  Let's have some drinks, eat some food and you can give me recommendations on the best Chicago has to offer.

PEOPLE WHO HAVE ADVICE ABOUT A JOB IN CHICAGO:
 While I have treasured my time working in Licensing at Junk Food Clothing for the past 4 years, I am taking this move as an opportunity to shift my career in a more creative direction (in addition to expanding this blog and my Etsy shop).  Over the past couple years, it has become clear to me that I have real interest and passion for event planning and design.  I think there would be no better time to go on a new career path into this industry than our move to this amazing new city and I would gladly welcome any advice those currently in this industry are willing to give out.

 FRIENDS WHO LIVE HERE:
Let's hang out!! You all have just shy of three months to get some quality time spent with us.
(Oh and don't you worry because I already decided on the theme for our going away party...)
