{mini seasonal appetizer}

While searching for an appetizer to bring to a dinner party this weekend, I came across this recipe for Persimmon Pear Crostini on Joy the Baker.  This is a seasonal take on a classic caprese crostini which basically means its guaranteed to taste great based solely on the fact that it includes a large piece of mozzarella.  I wasn't sure that there was any sort of modification that I could make that would make this dish any better- except of course to make it in a mini version!!!

This appetizer delivers on all levels you want from a one bite serving as well as just generally looking pretty and cute on a serving tray.  The crunchy buttery crostini as a base topped with sugary pear, fresh basil, seasonal persimmon and creamy mozzarella cheese is already enough flavor to leave you satisfied, but then it's drizzled with tangy balsamic and a sprinkle of Maldon salt which pushes it over the edge into "I want to eat this for every meal. ever" territory.  Make this dish next time you go somewhere. It will leave everyone happy.
